Happy Valentine’s Day

February 14, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

For many people, Valentine’s Day brings back fond memories of elementary school days when we gave out paper valentines to our friends and a special gift for our teacher. It was all about showing our friends and family that we care about them.

Today is Valentine’s Day. Show your valentine how much you appreciate them in your life by helping people in our community battling cancer.

  • Instead of giving flowers, a gift to Relay For Life will allow a woman to learn how to use a scarf to regain her sense of beauty through the American Cancer Society “Look Good…Feel Better” program.
  • Thinking of giving chocolates to your sweetheart? Your donation could help a teenager battling cancer learn how to deal with friends, fatigue, activities and school through the American Cancer Society “Look Good…Feel Better for Teens” program.
  • Rather then buying that cute teddy bear holding a heart, your donation could help send a child battling cancer to camp at the American Cancer Society’s Camp Sunrise.
  • Instead of giving a gift certificate for a day at the spa, making a donation to Relay For Life allows the American Cancer Society to provide free lodging for cancer patients receiving treatment far from home through their Hope Lodge.

So before you head off to your local greeting card store, call the florist or fret over the perfect gift for your valentine… consider making a Valentine’s Day donation in their name to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. It’s a gift that will keep giving long after the flowers and candy are gone!

Please make your tax-deductible valentine donation by clicking here.

Then, come back here and leave a comment to let us know who you made your donation on behalf of.

Happy Valentine’s Day !

Please sponsor our Relay For Life team.

Please sponsor our Relay For Life team.

Have you ever wanted your company’s logo on the back of a t-shirt? Then here’s your chance!

For only a $100 donation to American Cancer Society, we’ll put your company’s logo on the back of our t-shirts. That means that 15 energetic kids and their parents will proudly be wearing your logo at Relay For Life.

But there’s more… we’ll also wear our t-shirts to school every Friday up until Relay For Life. Plus, we’ll wear our t-shirts to all our fundraiser events leading up to Relay: CiCi’s Pizza Nights, Bake Sales, our Rummage Sale, and our can collection days.

But that’s NOT ALL!!!

Just for making your $100 tax-deductible donation before February 19, 2009 (we need to get these made soon), we’ll also throw in the following:

  1. We’ll post your company’s logo on our Sponsors page with a link back to your website (if you have one). Your logo will be located here until December 31, 2009.
  2. We’ll write a special blog post about how your company is joining the fight against cancer and provide a link back to your website.
  3. We’ll list our sponsors on a poster and proudly display it at our campsite at Relay For Life. We’ll also display it at many of our fundraising activities.
  4. We’ll list your company’s name as a sponsor at the bottom of all our fliers.
  5. We’ll list your company as a sponsor on our Facebook group and provide a link back to your website.
  6. We’ll twitter about you. We have over 600 followers!

That’s right, you’ll get all of this for only a $100 tax-deductible donation to American Cancer Society.

Remember, the deadline for t-shirts is February 19, 2009.***

Ready to sign up?

Here’s all you need to do:

  1. Go to our Relay For Life website and make a $100 donation. (Click here.)
Note: You must use this link to make the donation so our team will get the credit. Otherwise, it will not be valid. If you would like, you can select one of the kids and make your donation in their account rather than making a donation on behalf of the entire team. You can also divide your donation between two or more kids as long as it totals $100.
  2. Email us at sponsors[a]cancercrushers.com to let us know you made the donation. Then, we will make arrangements to get your logo and information.

If you have any questions, feel free to call us at 817-439-0345.

***We reserve the right to refuse any company if they are not kid-friendly.

Thank you for joining us in the fight against cancer!

Some Can Crushing Fun

February 10, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

Some of the kids had some can crushing fun yesterday.

Before we got started, we made sure we were wearing our gloves.

Then we played around with them a little.

Silly kids.

Even the parents participated in the crushing.

Some crushed with their feet.

Some used the can crusher.

We ended up crushing six large bags of cans.

We plan on turning in the cans later this week to see how much we have made.

Check back later to see how much we have raised so far for American Cancer Society.

Thank You JCPenney

Today is World Cancer Day 2009

February 4, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

Today, February 4, is World Cancer Day 2009, which marks the start of a year-long campaign, where the International Union Against Cancer (UICC) will work with parents, teachers and decision-makers around the world to encourage kids to eat a healthy diet, be physically active, and maintain a healthy body weight. Being overweight or obese has been shown to increase the risk of cancer among adults.

So please support this campaign.
